The first sections shows the development of the Scandinavian interior in the twentieth century, illustrated with a range of archive images of Scandinavian houses. Sections using the themes of rural style, waterfront style, and urban style follow, each one introducing contemporary examples of real homes in Scandinavia and Finland. Some of these closely follow classic traditions, while others accommodate designs that respond to their location of that embrace a modern interpretation. Both established and modern designers are featured in the book, such Arne Jacobson, Thomas Sanderson, and Jorn Utzon. Finally, a source directory gives a comprehensive listing of suppliers and products that are available in the Scandinavian style.
