This book presents some of the schemes located on the coasts and riverbanks of the earth. They show the efforts of their designers to conceive an architecture that is elegant, appropriate to its environment and able to provide its inhabitants with the necessary comfort and security to enjoy a stimulating interaction with nature. These unusual works are located on seas, oceans, rivers and lakes but do not damage their idylolic image of natural paradises. The architects organise the spaces to take full advantage of their location and to create a dialogue with the interior and the exterior of the building so that the two concepts are often merged into one.
